About Me

I am a jeweller and silversmith who lives in Co. Limerick, Ireland and I have been working with precious metals for over 20 years. I design and create collections of silver and gold jewellery, teach jewellery skills workshops and create one-off pieces of jewellery and sculpture for clients.

I have always been fascinated with making things with my hands. From a young age I would make little models and 'monsters' out of many different materials. I went to my first jewellery skills class when I was 17 and I clearly remember the exciting experience of creating a piece of finished, polished jewellery just by the skill of my hands.

My first collections as a professional jeweller were influenced by my years as an archaeologist excavating sites in Dublin, Wicklow and Kerry. I launched my jewellery business under the name ForGotten Silver, with a mixture of exact replicas of historical artefacts and pieces of modern jewellery influenced by the rich heritage of Ireland.

When I bought a house in the Co. Limerick countryside and started to create a garden out of the neglected land around it, I became fascinated with the forms and textures of the plants and trees that I was nurturing. I started to design and create jewellery inspired by the natural beauty I saw in the details around me, and my Botanic collections were born. I decided to relaunch as Fergus Grant Stevenson to reflect the fact that I was now making more than historical designs.

Currently I split my time between creating bespoke pieces of one-off jewellery and sculpture for clients, making jewellery for sale on my website and at fairs, teaching jewellery skills workshops and renovating my 200 year old cottage.
