Lough Gur

This collection is inspired by an ancient bronze shield from the Late Bronze Age (c.700 BC). The original shield was found in a bog between Ballinamoona and Herbertstown, near Lough Gur, Co. Limerick, Ireland

My studio is only a few kilometers from Lough Gur, and its rich historical landscape, and I have spent a lot of happy hours walking around its shores and paddling on its waters in my kayak.
