These beautiful Open Leaf drop earrings are hand forged from sterling silver and the front of the earrings are covered with hand fused 24 carat gold. They are hung on sterling silver earring hooks. Every rippling mark on the Leaf's surface is made by a strike of my hammer as I forge it  from a piece of flat silver sheet into a gently curving 3D shape.

The simple but eye-catching design evokes the beauty and delicacy of a newly formed leaf. As these earrings are forge hardened, I have been able to make them quite light this means that they move gently with the wind (or your own movements) and this gives them the look and life a leaf on a tree branch.


The 24 carat gold on these earrings is hand fused on in 5 layers using an ancient Korean technique called keum bu. This gives the gold a beautiful warm texture and creates a thick, hard-wearing coating of gold over 100 times thicker than gold plating.
