Lough Gur Pendant

A striking statement piece, this sterling silver pendant is based on an ancient bronze shield from the Late Bronze Age (c.700 BC). The original shield was found in a bog between Ballinamoona and Herbertstown, near Lough Gur, Co. Limerick, Ireland.

Made the same way as the original shield, this pendant is hand forged from flat silver sheet with the raised bosses beaten out from behind. The concentric circles are hand engraved into the front.

Pendant length: 30mm

Comes hung on a chunky 18" sterling silver snake chain, as pictured.
