'Ring Money' Ring
These chunky solid silver rings are miniature replicas of Viking age silver artefacts (known as 'ring money' because it was thought they were used as trading tokens).
The original artefacts were the size of bangles and were found near Lough Sewdy, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. They are on display in the National Museum of Ireland and date to 9th / 10th Century A.D.
Hand forged from heavy sterling silver wire. Available in sizes H ( U.S. 4) and upwards. Please state your required size in the space to 'Add a note' on the Shopping Cart page.
I use the same simple tools and techniques to forge these rings into shape as would have been used to create the original artefacts over a thousand years ago.
